General Information

Goal Line Studios is located in Northern California and serves the greater Bay Area, Sacramento region, and clients throughout California and beyond.

Our main sound stage is 7,000 square feet with a 106-foot wide by 20-foot tall XR LED volume wall—one of the largest virtual production volumes in the nation.

We host commercials, music videos, feature films, television broadcasts, live events (up to 200 people), branded content, online courses, corporate presentations, product photography, and live-streamed productions.

We offer both. Goal Line Studios can be rented as a bare stage, or we can provide full-service production support including crew, equipment, and technical expertise.

Virtual Production & Technology

XR (Extended Reality) virtual production uses our massive LED volume wall to display photorealistic virtual environments in real-time. Cameras track movement and adjust the background accordingly, allowing talent to perform in any environment without green screen or extensive post-production.

Our Academy Award-winning Disguise media server supports both Unreal Engine and Unity Engine, the two leading platforms for virtual production content creation.

We use Stype’s Red Spy camera tracking system with dual camera tracking capability, ensuring precise synchronization between camera movement and virtual environments.

Absolutely. In-camera VFX on our LED volume eliminates the need for green screen entirely (unless a green screen is preferred), providing accurate lighting, reflections, and interactive environments that enhance realism and reduce post-production costs.

Goal Line Studios was founded by Joe Madden, son of Hall of Fame Coach and Emmy Award-winning broadcaster John Madden. The facility originally hosted John Madden’s radio shows and commercial recordings. In March 2023, we completed a multi-million-dollar renovation to become Northern California’s premier virtual production facility.

We’ve worked with major brands including Toyota, Clorox, Udemy, Kodiak Robotics, and Gametime, as well as entertainment clients like Machine Head and theatrical productions like The Cooler.
